#1: A neutral blazer
I have been looking for the perfect neutral blazer for a couple of years now, because they’re such a versatile staple. This Black Friday I picked up a couple different styles, and can’t wait to try them. I have my favorite picks under $100 and over $100 listed below.

#2: Silk & satin everything
I absolutely loved the satin midi-skirt trend, and now it’s expanded into blouses and trousers. Stick with neutrals (cream, brown, grey) and jewel tones (emerald green, ruby red) for fall & winter. A tip for dressing them down – pair your silk skirts with a graphic t-shirt, and your blouse with a pair of slouchy jeans.
#3: Leather pants & midi skirts
Leather never goes out of style, but this year marked the rapid rise of the 90’s style straight-leg leather pants. Go for a classic black or brown to avoid looking too trendy. I also love the leather midi skirt trend this fall in neutral colors.

#4: The perfect boots
One sale purchase that is always a sure bet is a pair of boots. You’ll get tons of use out of them. My favorite looks for fall & winter are taller silhouettes in brown leather & tan suede. Over-the-knee black suede is also always a classic!
